Paris Saint-Germain Academy USA made a thrilling return to Paris!
After a successful North America Cup in January, the top PSG Academy players from both the East and West Coast qualified for their spots to participate in the 7th edition of the exceptional Paris Saint-Germain Academy World Cup.
Hosted by Paris Saint-Germain FC, this four-day event invites delegations from across the globe to compete in various youth categories. With teams from both the USA and Canada, our delegation was represented by five boys’ teams in the U11 and U13 categories, and one girls’ team in the U15 category.
The event is more than just a competition – it’s an opportunity to showcase PSG’s high-level football methodology, match up international teams, and immerse players, coaches, and parents in unique Paris Saint-Germain FC experiences. All while taking in the breathtaking beauty of the French capital over an unforgettable extended weekend.
With over 400 competitors representing 12 countries from 4 continents, our teams from PSG Academy USA and Canada discovered a whole new meaning of international competition. Organized in a World Cup format, each team played group stage matches before eventually reaching a final playoff game against a well-matched opponent. The suspense, drama, and pressure of an international tournament were palpably felt by all and were reinforced by the presence of vocal and supportive fans from across the world!
A private and exclusive tour of the Parc des Princes Stadium was just the first of many immersive experiences. On the following evening, players and coaches were invited for a lap of honor before the final match of PSG’s season in front of thousands of fans and watched the match with the accompanying title celebration.
Another notable highlight was playing the final match of the tournament on the pitch of the Parc des Princes stadium, which was exclusively reserved for the PSG Academy World Cup. Fans supported the youth teams from inside the stadium, in what was a highly memorable and enjoyable experience for all.
Importantly, the event also featured cultural immersion within Paris, the city of lights. Everyone was able to visit the Eiffel Tower, stroll around the picturesque 7th and 15th arrondissements, and discover Paris by night on a boat tour on the Seine.
Thank you, PSG, for another incredible edition of the tournament, we’re coming back home with incredible memories.
